EPLAN Experience – the first 365 days
The concept has proven successful, as the experience of the past year has shown: companies are well aware of the necessity of process optimisation.
EPLAN Experience had its international launch at the 2014 SPS IPC Drives. Eight defined fields of action, from IT Infrastructure to Process Integration, have just one goal: supporting customers to become more efficient in engineering. The concept has proven successful, as the experience of the past year has shown: companies are well aware of the necessity of process optimisation. And in tandem with EPLAN’s customer consulting, these companies are actively addressing optimisation within the scope of the EPLAN Experience concept. Nuremberg/Monheim, Germany, 24 November 2015 – EPLAN Experience was started a year ago to assist customers in meeting the challenges in control technology engineering. Numerous fascinating customer projects demonstrate that the plan has been a complete success. “Especially for an IT project of this size, it’s important not to lose sight of the fields of action,” says Gottfried Aschauer, Director of Group Research & Development at Wintersteiger based in Austria. And EPLAN has thoroughly prepared exactly these fields of action, which can be used across all industries and in a modular manner. Examples include integrated IT topics, design methodologies, product structures, and codes and standards.
“We help companies use the same or even fewer resources to achieve more and to accelerate product development,” says EPLAN Managing Director Haluk Menderes. “We aren’t the only ones concerned about topics such as networking, globalisation and integration, they’re also important to our clients.” There is also strong demand for the topics of standardisation, configuration and variant management – the corresponding key to engineering is the product structure. Once structuring has taken place, customers must no longer keep reinventing the wheel, but instead can rely on standards. EPLAN also counts on re-use for the development of the Experience concept: the existing knowledge of process and practical experience of more than thirty years has been pooled, and this expertise is now being transferred to customers worldwide.
Great interest in Design Methods training
EPLAN offers practice-oriented seminars for the Codes & Standards and Design Methods fields of action, which support companies with trouble-free implementation of and compliance with IEC 81346. Feedback from these trainings has been positive. A good practical orientation and right selection of topics – especially the intense focus on current codes – is something that seminar participants have told EPLAN they particularly appreciate. And it isn’t only customers that benefit: solutions provider EPLAN is very satisfied with the results thus far. As Menderes says, “The number of our trainings has increased significantly, and we particularly pleased about the robust growth in participants for the Design and in-depth trainings.”
