Macros for building automation
More user benefits for heating/ventilation/climate control
Master data for a project are like oil in an engine. With them, the process runs smoother – simply better. Users save a lot of time when they can use complete macros and don’t have to create them from scratch. Starting in EPLAN Preplanning, Version 2.8, solutions provider EPLAN offers a pooled macro collection in the field of building automation. This free data increases user benefits and complements the comprehensive collection of device data in EPLAN Data Portal. Interested parties can get a first glimpse of it at the Light & Building trade show in Frankfurt.
Monheim, Germany, 26 February 2018 – The upcoming EPLAN Platform, Version 2.8, which will be released in September 2018, will cause users in the areas of heating/ventilation/climate control to sit up and take notice. For the first time, EPLAN is providing a macro project with system diagrams for building automation, considerably simplifying work processes for designing such systems. The macros are complete piping and instrumentation (P&I) schemes or diagrams. They can be used for a wide variety of applications.
Current norms supported
These so-called window macros are being supplied free of charge in an EPLAN format. The page macros, which include PCT logic loops among other things, cover both of the current valid norms DIN EN ISO 16484-3 and VDI 3813/3814. Users in the field of building automation can thus work considerably faster with this additional master data. It is estimated that time savings of 50 to 70 percent can be achieved for creating schematics. As part of preplanning, users can start initial planning activities with respect to the engineering process’s technical aspects on the EPLAN Platform early in the process. In the pre-planning project phase, concepts for the technical scope of the system are developed and initial numbers and quantity structures are estimated. The goal is to determine the technically most advantageous solution and to define the specifications for the subsequent detail planning. Schematic creation and further detailing for the system can occur later based on the pre-planning.
Collection systematically expanded
With the macro project for EPLAN Platform, Version 2.8, scheduled to be released in September, solutions provider EPLAN is taking its first step towards more master data in the field of building automation.
