First steps in EPLAN made easy
Questions are now answered directly online
Tutorials available for EPLAN Electric P8
How do I set up a project in EPLAN? Which pathway do I take when I want to specify wires or devices in the schematic or place components? What can macros do for me? All of these questions are now answered directly online. EPLAN has numerous tutorials in its online help system and on YouTube as well that explain the software’s basic functions for users. A number of the video-supported tutorials in German and English are based on the current Version 2.7, however initial insights into the coming Version 2.8 are also available.
Monheim/Hanover, Germany, 23 April 2018 – Getting an easy start into using a software – that’s something everyone wants who is taking their first steps using an application. Solutions provider EPLAN makes this work even easier with a current total of eleven tutorials available in the online help system for EPLAN Electric P8. Additional topics for the upcoming Version 2.8 and for neighbouring disciplines such as control cabinet engineering and preplanning will follow. In parallel to the online assistance, there are also useful “How It Works” videos on YouTube. The response to the previous topics is overwhelmingly positive: several of the videos have already been viewed over two thousand times.
Online for every purpose
Of course the tutorials are available for every device – from PCs to tablet computers to smartphones. The videos can also be regarded as online assistants that explain numerous important basic functions. Creating projects and schematics is the be-all and end-all when working with CAE software. But the automatic connection of components in the schematic, assigning wires or parts, and placing devices are core tasks in electrical engineering. So it’s great when a practice-oriented video helps simplify these first steps.
Going in-depth into special topics
Users who have already been using EPLAN successfully will also find useful information in these tutorials. For instance they can find out about the basics of designing with macros, engineering with placeholder objects, or the targeted use of the EPLAN Data Portal. Additional topics such as creating reports or automatic cross-references – an in-demand EPLAN function that enables a better overview within a project – are also covered. The tutorials serve as a jump start and impart a first impression of the software. For dealing with EPLAN Electric P8 in a more professional manner, it is further advisable to attend a training course at the EPLAN Academy. The course imparts professional know-how – based on the respective qualification, starting from basic training through to the EPLAN Certified Engineering training programme. After completion, a certification can be obtained from the Rheinische Fachhochschule Cologne. The tutorials may be viewed for free in the EPLAN help system or at: www.youtube.de/eplan
